The findings <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> interviews that are performed with pr<strong>of</strong>essionals reveals <strong>the</strong><br />
following issues;<br />
• AutoCAD is considered to be <strong>the</strong> most used CAAD s<strong>of</strong>tware in <strong>interior</strong><br />
architectural practice, even though o<strong>the</strong>r s<strong>of</strong>tware packages exist.<br />
• Similarly, in all <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>interior</strong> architectural design phases mentioned,<br />
again AutoCAD foreruns in front <strong>of</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r s<strong>of</strong>tware packages.<br />
• AutoCAD’s success in conceptual design phase is due to its ‘flexibility’<br />
and ‘sufficiency in 2D drawing’ features, and ‘2D graphical presentation’<br />
quality.<br />
• In <strong>the</strong> project development phase, AutoCAD’s ‘ease <strong>of</strong> use’, its potential<br />
for providing ‘detailed and technical drawings’ and in providing ‘precise<br />
drawings for production’ makes it popular.<br />
• ‘Shorter processing time’ and AutoCAD’s sufficiency in ‘3D modeling<br />
and presentation’ features are <strong>the</strong> most important factors in preferring<br />
AutoCAD in presentation phase.<br />
• Fur<strong>the</strong>rmore, <strong>the</strong> analyses examined in this part underlined that <strong>the</strong><br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essionals find <strong>the</strong> general purpose CAAD s<strong>of</strong>tware adequate in spite<br />
<strong>of</strong> its insufficiencies, such as; ‘limiting <strong>the</strong> <strong>interior</strong> architectural design’<br />
and ‘lack <strong>of</strong> <strong>interior</strong> architectural details’.<br />
• On <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r hand, pr<strong>of</strong>essionals also stated that <strong>the</strong>y need domain<br />
specific s<strong>of</strong>tware package that would provide ‘photorealistic image<br />
rendering’ and ‘<strong>interior</strong> architectural details’.<br />
• In addition, ‘photorealistic image rendering’ appears to be <strong>the</strong> most<br />
significant requirement among <strong>the</strong> user needs stated.<br />
