This categorisation has been adopted in order to structure the findings of the mapping<br />

research as, just as it is important to recognise where dance has come from, it is also<br />

important that the overall environment within which the dance field exists informs both its<br />

current state and its future development. The trends and issues identified are examined in<br />

each section of the report.<br />
