Fault Tolerant Connections <strong>and</strong> Reconnection<br />

(You can click Reset to restore the previously applied values before you click Apply.)<br />

If you click Undo, any changes made before the previous Apply are undone. The<br />

information reverts to its previous state <strong>and</strong> Redo becomes available. (Undo does not<br />

undo the last change unless Apply has been clicked.)<br />

Deleting <strong>Progress</strong> <strong>Sonic</strong>MQ Endpoints<br />

The following procedure describes how to delete a <strong>Progress</strong> <strong>Sonic</strong>MQ endpoint.<br />

◆ To delete a <strong>Progress</strong> <strong>Sonic</strong>MQ endpoint:<br />

1. In the left panel in the <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Console, under the <strong>ESB</strong> Configured<br />

Objects node, exp<strong>and</strong> the Endpoints folder <strong>and</strong> click <strong>Progress</strong> <strong>Sonic</strong>MQ Endpoint.<br />

The upper right panel lists the endpoints in the Endpoints tab.<br />

2. Select the endpoint you want to delete, <strong>and</strong> then click Delete.<br />

3. Confirm the selection. <strong>Progress</strong> <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>ESB</strong> deletes the selected endpoint.<br />

Fault Tolerant Connections <strong>and</strong> Reconnection<br />

<strong>Progress</strong> <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>ESB</strong> provides fault tolerant client connections that allow <strong>ESB</strong> services to<br />

become failure resistant when used in a replicated broker environment. Enabling fault<br />

tolerant connections allows your <strong>ESB</strong> services to recover connections without message<br />

loss or duplication in the following circumstances:<br />

● Reconnect to the same broker if the connection is lost due to network failure<br />

● Reconnect to the same broker through redundant network interfaces if the connection<br />

in lost due to network failure<br />

● Reconnect to a broker that is configured as a backup broker if the primary broker fails<br />

● Reconnect to a broker that crashes <strong>and</strong> recovers from the log if that broker is<br />

configured with full broker crash recovery<br />

The fault tolerant <strong>and</strong> reconnect properties you can set for a connection are:<br />
