Using Activation Daemons<br />

Adding an <strong>ESB</strong> Container to an Activation Daemon’s Activation List<br />

The following procedure describes how to add a management container that hosts an <strong>ESB</strong><br />

Container an Activation Daemon’s activation list. As an example, this procedure adds the<br />

Service5 management container which hosts an <strong>ESB</strong> Container of the same name.<br />

◆ To add an <strong>ESB</strong> Container to an Activation Daemon’s activation list:<br />

1. In the <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Console’s Configure tab, navigate to the Activation<br />

Daemon you created, then right-click on it.<br />

2. Choose Add Container to Activation List.<br />

3. Under the General tab, specify the following properties:<br />

Property Description<br />

Container Name of the container to associate with the Activation Daemon.<br />

For this example, select ... then select Containers\Service5 Container <strong>and</strong><br />

click OK.<br />

Number of<br />

Retries<br />

Number of times the <strong>ESB</strong> ContainerActivation Daemon should attempt to<br />

restart the spawned container. For this example, use the value 4 instead of<br />

the default value, 0.<br />

Retry Interval Number of seconds between attempts by the Activation Daemon to restart<br />

the spawned container. For this example, use the value 15 instead of the<br />

default value, 0.<br />

For this example, your Add Container to Activation List dialog box looks like this:<br />
