<strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Console<br />

<strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Console<br />

The <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Console (SMC) provides a graphic interface for configuring,<br />

managing, <strong>and</strong> monitoring configureed objects in the <strong>Sonic</strong> domain as well as launching<br />

supporting tools.<br />

◆ To start the <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Console:<br />

❖ On Windows, choose:<br />

Start > Programs > <strong>Progress</strong> > <strong>Sonic</strong> 8.5 > <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Console<br />

❖ On UNIX or Linux, set a console window to the <strong>Progress</strong> <strong>Sonic</strong>MQ installation<br />

directory, <strong>and</strong> type ./bin/startmc.sh <strong>and</strong> press Return.<br />

The <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>Management</strong> Console opens. The Create Connection dialog box opens, as<br />

shown:<br />

A Connection Name, the Domain Name, <strong>and</strong> its Connection URL are required when<br />

security is not enabled on the management broker. When security is enabled on the<br />

management broker, an authentic User Name <strong>and</strong> Password are also required. The<br />

dialog box displays all the default values except the default user’s password:<br />

Administrator.<br />
