Chapter 9: Configuring BPEL Services
Setting a Default Partner Link
When a BPEL Service is invoked it uses WS-Addressing reference parameters to identify
the process and partner link associated with the invocation. If the message does not
specify this information then the default process and partner link are used.
The default partner link is optional. If no default is specified and the service cannot
determine the process and partner link from the invocation message, the service will
produce a fault.
The processes (and partner links) in the Edit Default Partner Link dialog box are obtained
from the BPEL archive, so you must specify the archive before you can edit the default
partner link.
You can set or edit the default partner link for a BPEL service when configuring the
service in the SMC.
◆ To set or edit the default partner link:
1. In the Init Parameters area of the SMC, click ... to the right of the Default Partner Link
field. The Default Partner Link dialog box opens, as shown in this example:
If the BPEL service does not have any partner link configured, then the dialog box
displays the value None.
2. Select the Process and Partner Link for the BPEL service from the pull-down lists of
processes and partner links.
3. To remove a partner link, click Clear.
