The need of the industrialization to Venezuela

ABSTRACTS
The article reports the need for industrialization which results from the goal of
improving the quality of life of the people of the relatively less developed countries.
It examines specialized literature to find the determinants and the more
general characteristics of the processes of industrialization. It also, reviews the
strategies of industrialization. From the examination of the levels and the structure
of Venezuela´s external trade balance for industrial goods, it is presented a
characterization of its industrial sector. The Kaldor laws for the Venezuelan economy
are tested and it concludes that industrialization is the instrument to promote
its growth.

Integración Regional en América del Sur

Esta contribución trata de responder a dos preguntas: En primer lugar, ¿es la
Unión de las Naciones de América del Sur (UNASUR), la institución más viable
para lograr un proceso coherente para la integración regional de América del
Sur? En segundo lugar, ¿qué modelo de integración regional debería adoptarse
en el caso de que UNASUR garantizara la estabilidad macroecónomica y evitara
las crisis financiera y cambiaria de América del Sur? Las respuestas a estas
preguntas se basan en los siguientes objetivos: (i) demostrar que la Unión Monetaria
Europea no es un proyecto adecuado para América del Sur y (ii) presentar
una propuesta para la UNASUR.
