are cumulative over a six-week cycle. Students who are late to school for any other reason will receive the<br />

following consequences:<br />

2) 1 st and 2 nd tardies within a six-week cycle, warning notice will be given to the student and parent/guardian by<br />

the registrar.<br />

3) 3 rd and 4 th tardies within a six-week cycle, detention will be issued to the student and served the same day.<br />

4) 5 th tardy within a six-week cycle, In-School suspension will be issued to the student and served the same day.<br />

5) All tardies following will result in further disciplinary action and will be at the discretion <strong>of</strong> the administration.<br />

6) After nine (9) or more tardies in a six-week cycle, a parent/guardian conference will be held. Disciplinary action<br />

will be discussed and may result in suspension from school.<br />

DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES<br />

<strong>YES</strong> <strong>Prep</strong> teachers and administrators adhere to the following discipline sequence for middle school students:<br />

1 st Offense – Document infraction on paycheck /Navigation<br />

2 nd Offense – document infraction on paycheck /Navigation<br />

3 rd Offense - document infraction on paycheck /Navigation, student will be given the opportunity to call home and<br />

inform parent <strong>of</strong> the 3 rd Offense and the required attendance to detention the same day.<br />

4 th Offense - document infraction on paycheck /Navigation<br />

5 th Offense - document infraction on paycheck /Navigation; student will be placed on RISE (Restoration <strong>of</strong> Individual<br />

Student Excellence); parent will be notified by a staff member and parent conference will be scheduled<br />

Each week, students earn CAV Cash for good behavior. If students receive zero marks, they earn 5 CAV Cash. For each<br />

mark a student receives it is subtracted from their 5 CAV Cash weekly earning. Additionally, students can earn CAV Cash<br />

for having class jobs.<br />

RISE – Respect (Behavior)<br />

Students serving Respect RISE<br />

1) Are required to carry a behavior log to each class.<br />

2) Are required to wear a plain white t-shirt. In colder weather, students may wear a white or grey, longsleeve<br />

shirt under the white shirt, or if necessary, <strong>YES</strong> <strong>Prep</strong> sweat shirt under the white t-shirt. They<br />

may not wear white-collared shirts or <strong>YES</strong> <strong>Prep</strong> clothes as their outerwear.<br />

3) May only participate in group activities if given permission by the teacher, and if it is required for the<br />

learning activity.<br />

4) May not communicate with other students in any way. This includes writing notes, gesturing with<br />

hands, laughing or making facial expressions at other students.<br />

5) Are required to eat lunch in a separate, designated area away from peers and in the morning before<br />

school sit away from their peers.<br />

Students serving Respect RISE Level I:<br />

1) Parent conference<br />

2) 3 days <strong>of</strong> R.I.S.E.<br />

Students serving Respect RISE Level III:<br />

1) Parent conference with Grade Level Chair<br />

2) 4 days <strong>of</strong> R.I.S.E.<br />

3) Student Intervention<br />

Students serving Respect RISE Level II:<br />

1) Parent conference<br />

2) 4 days <strong>of</strong> R.I.S.E.<br />

Students serving Respect RISE Level IV:<br />

1) 1 day <strong>of</strong> In School Suspension<br />

2) 3 days <strong>of</strong> R.I.S.E.<br />

3) Parent Observation<br />

4) Student Intervention<br />

5) Commitment review with Dean <strong>of</strong> Students<br />
