Roger Dixon ha vivido y trabajado
en Ibiza durante más de 30
años, casi siempre recibiendo su
inspiración directamente de la
naturaleza y usando óleo sobre
lienzo como técnica. También ha
trabajado largos períodos en la
India y en el Lejano Oriente.
Numerosas exposiciones en la isla
y en el ámbito internacional. Cuadros
en colecciones privadas, sobre
todo en Ibiza.
Roger Dixon has worked for over 30
years in Ibiza nearly always taking his
inspiration directly from nature, and
using oil on canvas as his medium.
He has also worked extensively in
India and the Far East.
Numerous exhibitions both on the
island and internationally, and work
in private collections especially on
Ibiza.
“I recently read The End of Art by
Donald Kuspit, a polemic against
the deterioration of contemporary
art to a point of nihilism and cynical
business promotion.
Without being reactionary –I'm all in
favour of invention and exploration– I
agree with this analysis. And I add that
Art should be based on inspiration,
not ideas; awareness, not beliefs. In
short, Art should deliver beyond the
mind, not be its servant.”

Born in Beckenham, London,
Mother Norwegian, Father English.
Studied Art, first at Central School
of Art, Birmingham, later moved
to Norway and won a scholarship
to Oslo's "Kunst Akademi". Moved
to France and continued studies in
Paris, "La Grande Chaumiere" and
joined a group of international
painters, sharing a studio .

Nació en Londres y estudió arte en
Birmingham. Consiguió beca para
la academia de Oslo, Noruega. Después
se mudó a Francia y siguió sus
estudios en Paris donde se unió a
un grupo internacional de pintores
que compartieron un estudio.
Su obra se encuentra en colecciones
públicas y privadas en Inglaterra,
Francia, Alemania, Noruega,
España y EEUU.
