firme convencimiento de que la
Fusión Nuclear supone un fuerte
incentivo para abordar problemas
tecnológicos y científicos de frontera
por la industria española que
potencia su competitividad en los
mercados internacionales.

CONCLUSIONES
A lo largo del artículo se ha visto
como es posible conjugar el binomio
tecnología- competitividad
con éxito, arrojando como resultado
la potenciación de una capacidad
tecnológica española que
hace eficiente el parque español
de CCNN, ,proyecta la industria
española hacia el exterior y crea
riqueza en unas condiciones de
mercado cada vez más exigentes,
manteniendo un nivel de actividad.

Although the direct involvement of electrical utilities in
fusion programs has been neither constant nor very
aggressive, since their business focuses on other emerging
energy technologies with a more short-term
implementation potential, there has been a constant
interest in keeping a close eye on these programs because
of their strong impact on industrial development and
competitiveness and tremendous prospects for the future.
This interest has led to the objective of undertaking the
coordinated tracking of scientific, technological and
industrial development of nuclear fusion as an energy
alternative for the 21st century. This tracking should allow
the Spanish electricity sector to be in a good position to
address any possible demands that may arise in the future
from the milestones and resulting decisions of fusion
research and development programs.
The activities with the most direct technological
implications nationwide are the support, through
collaboration projects and contracts, of official Spanish
institutions that are actively involved in fusion, support of
Spanish industry participation in international projects
such as JET, ITER, etc., and collaboration in promoting
fusion technologies at the industrial level.
These actions are based on a firm conviction that
Nuclear Fusion provides a strong incentive to the Spanish
industry to address technological and scientific issues so as
to leverage its competitiveness on international markets.
CONCLUSIONS
This article has discussed how it is possible to
successfully combine the technology-competitiveness
binomial, resulting in a leveraging of the Spanish
technological capability that provides for efficient
operation of the Spanish NPP park, a projection of Spanish
industry outside its borders, and creation of wealth under
increasingly demanding market conditions while
maintaining the level of activity.
