245. Deutschland. - Unvergessen! Maschinengeschriebenes
Original-Manuskript einer jungen Frau, welche
das Schicksal ihrer Familie aus Dresden in den letzten
Kriegsmonaten 1944/45 beschreibt. 1945, in-8vo, 16
Bl.,(ca. 43 Linien/Bl.) sauber eng beschrieben auf leicht
gebräuntem Papier, Original-Pappband, mit gehefteten
Seiten, ms. Titel auf Vorderdeckel, Ecken leicht bestossen,
sehr guter Zustand. HRB 81792 950.-
Originaldokument mit den Erinnerungen
einer Dresdner Familie,
geschrieben von einer der
Töchter unmittelbar nach dem
Krieg. Thema sind die traumatischen
Ereignisse gegen Ende des
Krieges. Die Nachricht des Todes
des einzigen Sohnes an der Ostfront im Herbst 44, dann das
Erlebnis des Luftangriffs auf Dresden am 13. Februar 45, der
Luftschutzkeller, die Bomben und das Feuer, der Fussmarsch
mit den letzten Habseligkeiten aufs Land in das Städtlein Pulsnitz,
die letzten Kriegstage, die Nachricht vom Tode Hitlers
im Radio und die Rückkehr in das russisch besetzte Dresden.
Die packende Erzählung reicht bis zum Weihnachtsfest
1945. Soweit bekannt noch unpubliziertes Quellenmaterial.

In 5 Heften (insgesamt 75 S.) mit schöner Handschrift
die dt. Übersetzung des Textes von Hinks, ergänzt um
eine zusammenfassende Darstellung in Tabellenform und
eine Tabelle der römischen Dynastien auf der letzten Seite
(welche nicht im engl. Original enthalten sind), der
Übersetzer signiert mit “H. G. J.” über dem Datum 1938.
Beiliegend: Das gedruckte Original in englischer Sprache.

handcolored and callygraphed
address, signed
by 22 members of the
staff and dated 19th Feb-
ruary, 1901. 40x54.5 cm Handwritten in victorian style
letters with a richly decorated handpainted frame around
the text, executed in different colors and augmented with
gold, on cardboard, signed by the artist Percy ALCER-
NON, some glue traces on the border (not touching the
painting) and slight waterstains at the bottom, fine condition.

249. England. - Collection of signatures on 16 pages,
preceded by beautifully handwritten dedication in red
and black on vellum for Arthur FAIRBANKS. 1913, in-
4to, Full olive morocco binding, with onlays of brown
and red in gilt lining forming the initials ‘AF’ interlaced,
with above and below the title ‘St. Peter’s Eaton Square’
‘1881-1913’, covers framed with triple lining as well as
linings on the spine, interior dentelle, some little rubbing
on the lower cover, gilt edges, artistic binding signed
‘Girdsall & Son Northhampton’. HRB 2786 600.-
An interesting item
for autograph collectors,
who may
find some signatures
of personnalities of
historical importance in this manuscript. It is addressed to the
Reverend Arthur Fairbanks, who had been promoting the work
of his church, for which the parishioners herewith wish to express
their gratefulness. The reverend had been obliged to leave
his parish because of ill health.
The manuscript contains the following parts: The title and
dedication from the parishioners “To the reverend Arthur Fairbanks.
We the undersigned, parishioners, members of the congregations
of St. Peter’s Eaton Square, St John the Evangelist,
Wilton Road, St. Peter’s Chapel, & others, desire respectfully
and affectionately to express our deep regret at the severance of
your official connection with the Parish. During the long period
of thirty-five (!) years...June, 1913.”
It is followed by 6 pages written by one person and containing
names and addresses of about 150 people + 10 pages with
signatures (about 350) most of them with addresses. The manuscript
is bound in a beautiful olive-green morocco binding.

and last will of Thomas
Bird from the parish of
Eye, Hereford, UK. He
leaves several parcels of
land in Eye, Brimfield
and Botchford, as well
as an estate in Brimfield,
to his family. Made in 1799, signed by the testator and
witnesses in 1803, written by Thomas Clarke in brown
ink on parchment, 36,5 x 47,5 cm. With another smaller
piece of parchment containing the confirmation of the
testament by John Napleton, General Principal of the
Lordbishop of Hereford, parchment with a printed form
and paper stamp (also a stamp on the back), filled out by
Thomas Clarke. 1803, 36.5 x 47.5 cm, was originally attached
to the testament by the (now missing) seal. in all
