Geisser (1824 - 1894) était
un paysagiste et peintre de
genre, né à Altstätten (St-
Gall), il s’établit d’abord à Zurich et à partir de 1865 à Lausanne,
d’où il a aussi écrit la présente lettre (depuis le chalet
Elisabeth, son domicile). Il a représenté un grand nombre de
sites alpestres suisses. 3 xylogravures (14.5 x 23 cm) de ses
oeuvres sont incluses (Glacier du Mont-Blanc de Cheillon - Le

Saint Phalle to Micheline (Micheline Gygax - compagnon
of Jean Tinguely and mother of their mutual son )
asking her to translate a small book by a Polynesian King
(certainly: Papalagy) which she likes to illustrate. Feuille

ff., 31.5 x 21 cm, créé par l’artiste elle-même, env. 1975.
Imprimé en n/b sur papier (page de titre en couleur), colorié
à la main et rempli de collages. Le film a été réalisé
avec la participation
d’artistes célèbres comme
Bernhard Luginbühl, Hans
Spoeri et Jean Tinguely,
avec en rôle principale la
fille de Niki, Laura Condominas.
Cet exemplaire est
unique car il a été retouché
par l’artiste en personne et
porte la dédicace ms. “pour
Micheline, Merci - j’espère
que tu viendras (!) voir le
film, je t’embrasse. Niki”.
Il s’agit de son amie Miche-
line Gygax, compagne de Jean Tinguely et mère du fils
de ce dernier, Milan. Provenance: Milan Gygax / Yves
Lachat, (vendeur d’art privé).
Presentation of the 1976 movie “Un rêve plus long que
la nuit” from Niki de Saint Phalle, booklet of 15 sheets,
31.5 x 21 cm, created by the artist herself, ca. 1975,
printed in b/w (titlepage in colour), colored by hand
and decorated with pasted images. The movie stars,
her own daughter Laura Condominas in the front role
and several other wellknown artists like Bernhard Luginbühl,
Hans Spoeri and Jean Tinguely participated in
the project. This item is unique as it was prepared by
the artist herself and features the following dedication
on the front page: “pour Micheline, Merci - j’espère que
tu viendra voir le film, je t’embrasse. Niki”. Micheline
Gygax the companion of Jean Tinguely and the mother
of his son Milan, was a good friend of Niki,. Provenance:
Milan Gygax / Yves Lachat, (private art dealer).
