Geniale Entwürfe eines nie zur Ruhe kommenden
Geistes. Mit Bleistift, Kugelschreiber, Filzstift
oder Pinsel zeichnete er auf alles was gerade zur Hand
war,vom Briefpapier der ‘R.M.S Queen Elisabeth’ bis
zum Umschlag eines Taschenbuches. Meist benutzte
er dann die Rückseite, um seine Apparaturen und Installationen
zu entwerfen, viele sind mit detaillierten
Textkommentaren versehen. Herkunft: ‘Appartient à
Kouki’ (der Sohn von Jean Tinguely et Micheline Gygax)

The decisive moment of genius: collection of sketches and
ideas put on paper by Jean Tinguely, many first moments of his
famous fountains, sculptures and other movable-art. He used
whatever was at hand at that moment to draw his machines
and installations with comments, so e.g. letterpaper from the
‘R.M.S Queen Elisabeth’ or even the inside of a book cover.
Provenience: ‘Appartient à Kouki’ (son of Jean Tinguely) Milan
Gygax / Yves Lachat, (art dealer and friend of the family).
Le moment génial, captivé dans des brouillons du grand artiste
Jean Tinguely, qui utilisait tout support disponible pour dessiner
ses machines et installations, par exemple le papier lettre
de la ‘R.M.S Queen Elisabeth’ ou la couverture d’un livre de
poche. Beaucoup de ses croquis sont annotés d’explications détaillées,
et peuvent facilement (pour celui qui connaît l’oeuvre
de Jean) se référer à diverses époques et à ses sculptures.
