(47.3%) and anemia (46.15%) were most prevalent in primigravidae women. More
half (50.7%) of our patients had a low parasitic load, the higher parasitemia was
observed in the younger patients. The most frequent clinical signs were the fever
with 86.7%; nauseas with 73.1%; the opening of the collar with 64.0% and
vomiting 57.5%. Related to the pregnancy evolution, we observed more threats
premature births and threats of childbirth (17.6% and 17.0%) than abortions 5.9%.
We had noted 4 cases of death, i.e. 1.1%.
Conclusion: This study illustrated the predilection of greater malaria susceptibility
during pregnancy particularly in the primigravidae. Malaria prevalence was higher
in rainy season than dry season and depends on ecological and socio-economic
factors. So an adequate and urgent prophylactic means need to be taken for this
population at high risk.
