Traces de Dinosaures / PaléoJura
Courtedoux D6
Dans la région de Courtedoux près de
Porrentruy, des traces de dinosaures
datant de 150 millions d’années ont été
mises au jour. Ces découvertes figurent
parmi les plus importantes en Europe.
Réparties actuellement sur plusieurs
sites de fouilles, ces dalles à traces
réunissent plus de 13’000 empreintes
de théropodes, carnivores bipèdes, et
de sauropodes, des herbivores quadrupèdes
qui arpentaient, en troupeau, une
plage de la mer jurassique.
Cependant, un sentier didactique «Sur
les traces des géants» est installé depuis
le 1 er mai 2010 à Courtedoux. «Sur les
traces des géants» propose une découverte
en forêt à travers une vingtaine de
panneaux thématiques et conduit à un
site à traces comportant des empreintes
de sauropodes dont certaines mesurent
plus d’un mètre de diamètre. PaléoJura
est donc basé sur trois axes, scientifique,
pédagogique et touristique.
In der Region Courtedoux bei Pruntrut
wurden Dinosaurierspuren gefunden, die
über 150 Millionen Jahre alt sind. Diese
Entdeckungen gehören zu den wichtigsten
Funden Europas. Die auf verschiedene
Ausgrabungsstätten verteilten
Steinplatten mit Spuren zeigen mehr als
13‘000 Fährten von Theropoden (zweibeinige
Fleischfresser) und Sauropoden
(vierbeinige Pflanzenfresser), die in Herden
am Strand des Jurameers lebten.
Am 1. Mai 2010 wurde in Courtedoux
der Lehrpfad „Auf den Spuren der Riesen“
eingeweiht. Er führt anhand von 20
thematischen Informationstafeln durch
den Wald und zu einer Fundstelle von
Sauropoden-Spuren, die teilweise einen
Durchmesser von über einem Meter haben.
PaléoJura stützt sich mit dem Projekt
auf die drei Achsen Wissenschaft,
Tourismus und Pädagogik.
In the Courtedoux region near Porrentruy,
dinosaur tracks dating back 150 million
years have been unearthed. These discoveries
are some of the most important
in Europe. Currently on several dig sites,
these fields of tracks have over 13,000
prints made by herds of theropods - biped
carnivores - and sauropods - quadruped
herbivores – as they crossed a beach by
the Jurassic sea.
An educational trail, “Following the steps
of the giants”, was created on 1 st May
2010 in Courtedoux. Following this trail
through the forest, past twenty thematic
information boards, brings you to a
site with sauropod tracks, some bigger
than one metre in diameter. The cantonal
Paléojura project was based on the three
pillars science, education and tourism.
