Horse
When the Jura is mentioned, you often or even spontaneously think of pine trees, pastures and ... horses. Is this really true? When you set off
to discover this region, you very quickly realise that the clichés are real.
A number of breeders also offer treks on horseback: one hour for beginners, a day or a week with a bivouac for more experienced riders.
Children are welcome on the farms during the summer and take part in equestrian camps making the most of the gentle, pleasant surroundings
of the Franches-Montagnes area.
You can also go on horse-drawn carriage rides, mostly in groups, for two hours at the most, or set off in a caravan for a few days, mostly for
families.
To conclude this brief overview of what has to be called an equestrian paradise, one mustn’t forget the many equestrian gîtes offering accommodation
to riders so they can discover the Franches-Montagnes equestrian network with over 150 km of marked trails (www.aref.ch ).
