8.3 On<strong>de</strong>rzoekHet eerste project 'Bouw waterbouwkundig laboratorium' is in 1997 geïnitieerddoor F. Augustyns (Flaamse gast docent) en overgenomen door Pr<strong>of</strong>. dr. S. Naipal,met als doel het on<strong>de</strong>rsteunen van on<strong>de</strong>rwijs en on<strong>de</strong>rzoeksactiviteiten t.a.v. microwaterkracht ontwikkeling in het binnenland. De financiering geschie<strong>de</strong> ho<strong>of</strong>dzakelijkdoor het Belgisch ontwikkelingsfonds, terwijl er ook een A<strong>de</strong>KUS component bij was.Dit project is gedaan i.s.m. <strong>de</strong> Katholieke universiteit Leuven. Vanaf dit moment namhet aantal initiaven voor on<strong>de</strong>rzoeksprojecten toe in <strong>de</strong> richting. On<strong>de</strong>rstaand is eenoverzicht van <strong>de</strong> belangrijkste on<strong>de</strong>rzoeksprojecten vanaf die perio<strong>de</strong>. Momenteelwor<strong>de</strong>n ook BSc en MSc stu<strong>de</strong>nten betrokken bij <strong>de</strong>ze projecten.
