(a lot of) CHARM!
Recently opened, right in the centre of Cascais, the
Artsy Cascais Boutique Hotel is much more than a hotel.
It’s a contemporary space full of history, where art
predominates, and therefore capable of offering truly
unique experiences, where you want to be and... stay!
The origins of the most recently opened
hotel in the centre of the unique town
of Cascais, once the summer retreat of the
Portuguese royal family, date back to 1899.
With almost 125 years of history, an old mansion
is one of the two buildings that together
make up the Artsy Cascais Boutique Hotel.
It is joined by another, of modern design,
with a façade by Portugal’s most celebrated
urban artist, including at international level:
Alexandre Farto, known to the general public
as Vhils, his stage name.
Originally built by a businessman who was
a friend of King Carlos, the house was also
owned by the great Portuguese industrialist
Alfredo da Silva, and eventually came into
the possession of Francisco Maria Balsemão’s
maternal grandfather, who spent several
summer seasons there as a teenager. When
he inherited it, and considering that it was
too big for him, he decided that it would be
