REGATTAS CNC UNBEATABLE The crews from Clube Naval de Cascais completely dominated the Under30 Championship, dedicated to the Snipe class, occupying all the podium spots. Henrique Brites won for the third time, this time with João Pontes as his bowman Organized by the Portuguese Snipe Class Association in partnership with Clube Naval de Cascais, the 2023 edition of the Snipe Under30 Championship took place in Cascais waters on September 1st and 2nd. Fourteen boats competed, with eight crews from CNC among the registered participants. Special mention, even before discussing the sporting aspect, goes to the collaboration provided by the owners of the boats in this class, who not only made them available but also actively contributed to the organization of this event. All of this took place in an edition that featured some of the most promising young national sailors. Unfortunately, during the first weekend of September, they were only able to compete in the three races scheduled for Saturday, as the lack of wind in the Bay of Cascais on Sunday prevented the fleet from going out on the water, thus making it impossible to fully complete the originally planned program. After completing the three possible races, the duo of Henrique Brites, now with João Pontes as his bowman, both sailors from Clube Naval de Cascais, achieved two victories and a third-place. This performance naturally secured them the top spot in the overall final standings of the championship and marked Henrique Brites’ third title in this event. In second place were Bernardo Loureiro and Olympic sailor Carolina João, also from Clube Naval de Cascais, while Luís Pinheiro and Martim Mastbaum, another duo from CNCascais, took the third spot on the podium. Still regarding the CNCascais athletes, Rafael de Oliveira Rodrigues, who teamed up with Manuel Veiga Ramos from Clube de Vela do Barreiro, finished in fourth place. In sixth place were Francisco Pinheiro de Melo and Matilde Pinheiro de Melo from Ginásio Clube de Faro. Tomás Barreto and Pedro Garcia secured the 8th position, Francisco Uva Sancho and Francisco Camacho took the 10th place, Salvador Baptista Fernandes and José Vozone finished in 11th place, and Maximilam de Groot and Conrad Costa claimed the 13th place. 76 <strong>Hippocampus</strong>
