Summer Party took place. This year, at the
table with the sailors and sponsors were
individuals such as the Mayor of Cascais,
Carlos Carreiras, and José Sotto Mayor
Matoso, Commodore of Clube Naval de
Cascais. The CNC also took the opportunity
to honour its sailor Carolina João and her
partner Diogo Costa, who had secured their
qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic
Games in Holland in the 470 class.
On the subject of Cascais Vela, Carlos
Carreiras said: “This is the 21st edition of
Cascais Vela, which means that for 21 years it
has helped a lot, not only to strengthen Clube
Naval de Cascais, which has been asserting
itself on the national and international scene,
but also for Cascais to assert itself as a region
where sailing has great potential because,
according to experts, we have some of the
best regatta fields in the world. And that’s
why we’ve welcomed many sailors, and for
us this is also a very strong incentive, even
for the economy itself, and for the social
cohesion of the municipality.”
After the meal, it was time for the mythical
Bye Bye Summer Party, which brought
together hundreds of people at Clube Naval
de Cascais for the traditional “farewell to
summer”. Socialising, lots of entertainment
and fun throughout the night. In 2024,
Cascais Vela will be back!
