OF THE “MIXED”
The 2023 edition of the Maria Guedes de Queiroz | AP Hotels & Resorts
Trophy took place at the end of September. On the last weekend of the
summer, which seemed to be at its peak, the weather was another ally
of the now classic regatta dedicated to mixed crews
Some even affectionately call it the
“mixed”. There’s no question that the
Maria Guedes de Queiroz | AP Hotels &
Resorts Trophy is already a “classic” in the
Clube Naval de Cascais regatta calendar,
an unmissable championship, also due to
the fact that it’s dedicated to mixed crews
in all the classes in which it’s contested.
The 2023 edition, which was supported
by AP Hotels & Resorts, was held on the
last weekend of summer, which seemed
to be at its peak, and autumn, as was later
confirmed, was still a long way off, so the
excellent weather conditions ended up being
another factor that contributed decisively
to the success of the initiative.
On the water were the Snipe and SB20
classes. In the first case, CNCascais sailors
dominated the top of the leader board, with
Pedro Barreto and Sofia Barreto taking
the lead over the competition, sharing the
podium with Miguel Graça and Luísa Peres,
second overall, and Guilherme Gomes
and Luísa Figueiredo. They were followed
by Vasco Empis and Graça Empis, Luís
Guedes de Queiroz and Mariana Queiroz,
Manuel Stichini Vilela (Clube Náutico de
Oficiais e Cadetes da Armada) and Maria
Tavares (Clube de Vela do Barreiro), Gaetan
Labi (Clube Náutico de Oficiais e Cadetes
da Armada) and Beatriz Caeiro (Clube
Náutico de Almada), Luís Peyssonneau
Nunes and Joana Peyssonneau Nunes,
Francisco Medeiros and Madalena Silva
(Clube Náutico de Almada), with José
Pedro Dias Pinheiro and Catarina Dias
Pinheiro closing the Top 10.
In the SB20s, victory went to Martim
Mastbaun, Tomás Barreto, Zilas Nascimento
and Carmo Le Corolle, on board
Inetum - Positive Digital Flow, followed by
João Pontes, Henrique Brites, Maria José
