Rapport 5891 – Multikriterieanalys (MKA) för hållbar efterbehandling av förorenade områden
alternatives, then the goal must be to modify the alternatives so that strong
sustainability can be reached. If this is not possible, then weak sustainability may
be the only option.
The remediation alternatives are ranked according to a calculated sustainability
index. The alternative with the highest sustainability index is regarded as
the “best” alternative from a sustainability point of view. This can be performed
regarding both strong and weak sustainability.
An example application of the presented MCA methodology is presented. A
step-wise procedure for applying the methodology is suggested. The aim is that
the method should be transparent and relatively easy to apply. The report was
financed by the Swedish EPA through the knowledge program Hållbar Sanering
(Sustainable Remediation).
