Speed up in Zürs
On January 17, 2014, just
before the race “Der Weiße
Ring – Das Rennen (“The
White Ring”) the Speed
Race Zürs is going to take
place for the first time this
season. On a short highspeed
track on Seekopf in
Zürs the fastest participant
is going to be measured –
each participant can try
as often as they like. Speed
up – the winner gets a free
starting place at the White
Ring 2015!
Sommelier of the year 2013
Is the title Hermann Lankmaier
from the Hotel Burg
in Oberlech now bears after
Falstaff-Magazine awarded
it to him! The Styrian has
been serving wine here for
20 years – with the result
that the Hotel’s cellar now
has about 50,000 bottles in
store, with a lot of excellent
wines from Bordeaux,
Burgundy, Italy and – of
course – Austria. With the
great support of the host
family Lucian and the
competent cooperation of
sommelière Claudia Fath,
head sommelier Lankmaier
managed to slowly
build up a wine menu with
1,000 positions! Cheers and
congratulations!

The fact that the title ‚Sommelier
of the year 2014
is awarded here as well is
proof of the high level of
quality that is groomed
here in Lech: Hotelier
and certified sommelier
Johannes Pfefferkorn
from the 5-Star Romantik
Hotel “Die Krone von Lech”
is awarded this title by
the “Großer Restaurant &
Hotel Guide 2014”. The
award-winner’s favourite
place is the new wine cellar
in a restored vault from
the 17th century that holds
more than 25,000 bottles.

July, 17,000 members of
the Falstaff Gourmetclub
rated hotels, restaurants
