in the winter season of 2013/14 the Auenfeldjet connects
the ski areas Lech Zürs and Warth-Schröcken.
A bridge into the future and between people and
regions that was carefully integrated into nature!
Where you’ll find the cradle of alpine skiing and
where this sport became big and famous is where
we now look towards a safe future: at the Arlberg
people know how to write success stories – with
courage, a tireless innovative spirit, a vision and
a great deal of tenacity when it comes to taking
projects that have not yet been realized and tackling
them once more. And that’s how a long-standing
wish of the Arlberg’s tourism pioneers finally comes
trues in winter 2013/14: a two kilometer 10 person
cable car now connects the skiing areas Lech Zürs
and Warth-Schröcken. The highly modern Auenfeldjet
makes swinging from one side to the other comfortable and the
advantages of the new partner skiing area can easily be discovered.
This means that skiers and snowboarders around the Arlberg now get
to explore an even greater variety of great slopes!

Unlimited fun on the slopes
With a total of 47 lifts and 190 km of slopes Lech Zürs and Warth-
Schröcken now form Vorarlberg’s biggest skiing area. If you include
St. Anton, St. Christoph and Stuben which can all be reached
through Lech Zürs, winter sports aficionados can use a total of 94
lifts and cable cars as well as 340 km of slopes with a snow-guarantee
within the tariff-union “Ski Arlberg”. Which makes it one of the
world’s biggest skiing areas! Sounds huge, is huge, but it was realized
in the most “unspectacular” way possible. The Auenfeldjet which cost
about 12 m Euros is a perfect example of careful development with a
minimal impact on the sensitive alpine nature. Only very few pillars
were erected on the western edge of the Auenfeld, no new slopes were
created. And when you look at the numbers above it becomes clear
that’s not necessary!
