LB Plus: Since when does the location exist?
Mike Grundy: WM International Ltd., Birmingham was registered
27 years ago in 1989.
LB Plus: Which size does the location have?
Mike Grundy: We are purely office-based and we have 1.500
Sq. Ft. offices.
LB Plus: Could you please describe the development from
the beginning until now?
Mike Grundy: In 1989 WM International originally operated
driver accompanied groupage services to and from WM
GROUP, Bocholt on a twice weekly basis. Since then we have
progressively grown in offering twice weekly groupage services
to Germany, Holland, Belgium, Denmark and Sweden.
Inclusive of daily full load services to all destinations. We have
also successfully sold services to all European destinations,
inclusive eastern block countries.
Since the early 1990’s we have also installed in Birmingham
Direct Computer Link Up with H.M.Customs & Excise at all
major ports in the UK, i.e. Felixstowe, Southampton, Tilbury
and Liverpool as a few examples, offering a very professional
Customs Clearance facility for goods arriving in the UK from
outside the EU. For which we have managed to obtain large
clients covering vast Tonnages of Steel, Plastic Bags etc.. WM
International is a small International Freight Forwarder and
we take pride in offering a very professional and personal
service to all our customers New and Old, of which customers
have maintained their relationship with WM for over 20
years.
LB Plus: Do you also store goods or is the location only for
transit?
Mike Grundy: Our depot based in Oldbury has a capacity of
25000 SqFt, has 3 Bays for unloading/loading, with 2 separate
entrances for unloading/loading inside the warehouse.
Also has a Overhead Crane with a capacity of handling 25
Tonnes for loading/unloading. Storage facilities are limited,
and can be arrange for short terms periods.
Also WM presently have storage facilities in Ipswich, Suffolk
for which at this present time we have in excess of 500 Tonnes
of Steel in store for a specific client, which we have been
covering for over 5 years.

Mike Grundy: Here in Birmingham we have eight employees.
