In order to be able to present the product “energy monitoring”
in a clear and competent way, Lanfer Automation got
another affiliated company on board. “We have had the idea
to have a film made about this topic using the example of
LEBO. We use this film for meetings with our customers and
it can also be found on our website,” says Christian Ebbert.
“However before that, we had developed a screenplay together
with Logata Media Solutions, that makes such a theoretical
subject concrete and above all visible.”

By integrating animated measuring curves into the film, the
film-makers have for instance managed to show energy consumption
and to sensitize for the issue. Thanks to interviews
with experts of Lanfer Automation and LEBO, the film also
demonstrates how useful and helpful energy monitoring is.
“A special challenge for us was to show things you usually
cannot see. However, in close cooperation with Mr Ebbert
and Mr Wennemaring we have made a great film,” production
manager Peter Wecking sums up.

The basis for the cooperation is a product of Lanfer
Automation called energy monitoring. “When and
where are there for instance energy peaks in production
companies? With energy monitoring, we
want to provide customers with this kind of information to
help them find out the reason why,” Christian Ebbert of Lanfer
Automation explains. “Big potential savings that often remain
undetected can be made here.”
This new tool was interesting for the door and frame manufacturer
LEBO. The affiliated company was DIN EN ISO 50001
certified at the end of 2015 and has thus implemented a
respective energy management system. One of the key elements
here was energy monitoring.
Individual Concepts to Achieve the Target
Together, the experts of Lanfer Automation and Frank Wennemaring,
LEBO employee responsible for energy management,
have equipped the production halls with corresponding
measuring devices at the most important points. “The
measuring points were connected to the local network and
with the help of the right software, all recorded data is directly
processed and displayed in the form of diagrams,” Frank Wennemaring
explains. “The data is permanently collected and
discussed in our energy team meetings. First possibilities to
optimize processes are currently being reviewed. That is why
there was for instance an inspection date with the manufac-
