The Company
The TOM TAILOR GROUP is one of Europe’s leading fashion
and lifestyle companies. With its two umbrella brands TOM
TAILOR and BONITA, the group offers trendy clothes and
accessories in the mid-range price segment and appeals
to complementary target groups aged between 0 and 60
years.
In addition to classic warehousing operations for BO-
NITA at the location of WM GROUP in Hamminkeln,
the logistics service provider now also undertakes the
returns management of the fashion company. “With
that, we also support our customer regarding the change
of the season,” logistics manager Christoph Erwig explains.
When changing from Autumn/Winter collection to Spring/
Summer collection or the other way around, all goods from
the stores are brought to the location of WM GROUP in Duisburg
– unsorted. Christoph Erwig: “First of all, our employees
presort the clothes on the basis of the criteria specified by
BONITA first. That means that the clothes are sorted by type
before they are packed into homogeneous handling units.”
Processes Optimized
in Daily Business
Every single piece of clothing is folded, packed into a
polybag for protection and then sent back to the central
warehouse of BONITA in Hamminkeln on pallets sorted
by article. While the stores used to send the goods
to Hamminkeln in the past, all clothes that need to be
processed are now directly sent to Duisburg. Christoph
Erwig: “This saves time and is the most logical way to
proceed.”
The group of companies sells its brands in over 40 countries.
The brand BONITA is sold in more than 1000 retail stores as
well as in vertically operated wholesale areas all across Europe.
The brand TOM TAILOR is not only sold in 460 centrally
located retail stores, but also via the wholesale segment,
including 200 franchise stores, around 2900 shop-in-shops
and almost 8400 multi-label stores. Moreover, both brands
are available online – the brand TOM TAILOR is sold online
in 21 different countries. The company has around 6900
employees worldwide.
