One of the first optimizations the management performed<br />
in the last year was to outsource the switch cabinet<br />
construction. “Lanfer Automation is a specialist in this<br />
field and supports us to ensure stable processes. Besides,<br />
outsourcing single elements in a clever way gives us<br />
the possibility to further grow in line with the market at<br />
a moderate pace,” says Dr. Kettler. The so-called “soft factors”<br />
are of high importance for a successful cooperation.<br />
Clean communication prevents costs and ensures optimal<br />
workflows. The details of the cooperation were put down<br />
in a “Letter of Intend” in 2015, which represents the basis.<br />

“One goal should be to integrate Lanfer Automation<br />
as an extended workbench, with everything that comes<br />
with that,” says Dr. Kettler. “For order reasons, the single<br />
parts are still delivered by us. However, the aim should be<br />
to outsource all subtasks included in the long term and<br />
to have a completed switch cabinet delivered in the end.<br />
There is still a lot to be done to determine the course.”<br />
A Common View<br />
of the Future<br />
Besides, Lanfer Automation offers support regarding<br />
software matters. “After having signed the Letter of Intend<br />
last year, we trained two employees and have been<br />
another Rockwell Solutions Partner beside Siemens ever<br />
since,” Markus Kuhlmann explains. “This would allow us to<br />
also support SN Maschinenbau in software development.”<br />
SN can imagine making single employees of Lanfer Automation<br />
familiar with “the heart of the machines” in the<br />
long term so that they are also able to provide support<br />
that exceeds the construction of switch cabinets. Markus<br />
Kuhlmann: “It is a trustful cooperation and that is what you<br />
need to develop ideas like this. We are very proud to have<br />
