and conducting them securely and digitally
– another area where demand has
grown since Covid-19. The BLok training
record also provides trainers and trainees
with a digital report booklet. With
its innovative products, Bildungsportal
Sachsen now operates far beyond the
borders of the Free State of Saxony. To
ensure that everything runs smoothly
at the company, this reliable partner for
digitalization in education and training
brings together a total of 33 employees
from the fields of economics and social
sciences, IT and media management,
among others. They work in product
management, software development,
quality assurance, admin and customer
support. From time to time, international
specialists also embark on their educational
and career path at BPS GmbH.
Maria Kretz, management assistant, for
example, has Russian roots and understands
the challenges of being a native
speaker of another language. As a rule,
however, applicants rarely lack knowledge
of German: “Specialists from abroad
usually have a good level of German.
Most of them come from a university
background and have already settled
in well in Germany before they apply to
us.” This is necessary, as the day-to-day
work mainly takes place in German. To
ensure that new colleagues are “taken
on board” from the outset, they are
supported by experienced employees
during the initial phase. “Of course, this
applies to all applicants regardless of
their origin,” says Sven Morgner. Further
support is provided by the works
council, which is an important point of
contact in all matters. For example, the
employee representatives recently supported
a colleague from Kyrgyzstan who
had already been working at the company
while studying at Zwickau University
of Applied Sciences. The boss summarises:
“Basically, geographical roots are
not a deciding factor for us. What interests
us are professional qualifications
and what makes someone tick.” And how
exactly does someone have to tick to be
shortlisted at BPS? Morgner laughs, but
then paints a surprisingly clear picture
of future colleagues: “You have to have a
good dose of pragmatism and, above all,
enjoy our work. We work a lot as a team,
which is why a certain level of communication
skills is an advantage. If you also
have good social skills, you should get in
