Company and environmental
information
published pursuant to the law on New Economic Regulations (NRE)
French companies are required to disclose in their annual reports
”information on the social and environmental impacts of
their activities”. Pursuant to Clause L 225-102-1 and relevant
application decrees of February 20 and April 30, 2002 of the
NRE (Nouvelles Régulations Economiques) law of Code de
Commerce.
Michelin Group has elected to disclose this information on a
Group-wide basis rather than limiting it to its French listed
company. Although far more complex, this approach alone is
germane to a realistic and meaningful account of the Group’s
social and environmental commitments. Where, in this environmental
report, Group scope is not relevant, we indicate the scope
relevant to a particular disclosure.
Employee information
In 2004, Michelin continued the gradual development of its set
of indicators, based on data supplied by all of our 74 industrial
sites and more than 170 trading branches.
The second “Michelin Performance and Responsibility update
2003-2004”, published in 2005 in French and English, sets forth
the guidelines and results of ongoing measures taken at Michelin
to combine the Group’s growth and economic performance
targets with a responsible exercise of its mission vis-à-vis people,
the environment and society as a whole.
Note that Michelin Group’s watchwords in implementing its
operations are set forth in a document called “Michelin
Performance and Responsibility Charter”, which is available on
the www.michelin.com. website.
