Implementing these three objectives uses measures which complete the above figure:
Maintaining environmental integrity: ensuring conservation of the species and all land and
sea-based ecosystems by way of environmental protection, conservation of the habitat of
each species, and a durable management of the utilization of animal populations and
vegetation.
Improving of social equality: giving the right to all ethnic groups to have access to a job,
education, medical and social care, and freedom of participation in decision making
processes.

Improving economic efficiency: recommending an optimal management of human,
natural and financial resources in order to satisfy the individual's needs by ensuring that
producers and consumers are aware of their responsibilities relating to the manufacture
and sale of goods and services.
Finally, sustainable development, for every form of this development, ideally means that natural
resources are not squandered nor is there any damage caused to the environment.
Sustainable development parameters
According to Sachs, the initiator of the eco-development concept with Strong, sustainable
development has five dimensions:
Social viability: a sustainable development project has to constitute a “better society”
project, targeting the reduction of social inequalities.
Economical viability: a development project relies on access to more equitable and
efficient resources and to regular private and public funding.
