consciousness deceives itself.<br />

Student: Well, it deceives itself into believing that there<br />

is a distinction between consciousnesses.<br />

<strong>Wolinsky</strong>: Why would it do that?<br />

Student: So that it could experience itself as existing.<br />

<strong>Wolinsky</strong>: So if the concept called “existence and non-existence,”<br />

even the concept called “soul” so that it<br />

could experience itself as a concept called existing,<br />

if all of those were made of the same consciousness,<br />

which had nothing to do with anything, including<br />

the one that was aware of all of this, then . . . ?<br />

Student: <strong>Not</strong>hing.<br />

<strong>Wolinsky</strong>: How are “you” doing?<br />

Student: It was like okay. It’s all just an elaborate complex<br />

survival thing.<br />

<strong>Wolinsky</strong>: If the concept called “my” consciousness was<br />

just condensed consciousness and had nothing<br />

to do with anything, then . . . ?<br />

<strong>Wolinsky</strong>: If the concept of consciousness condensed down<br />

and formed a concept called “my” consciousness<br />

and it believed this whole thing, what could this<br />

concept called “my” consciousness not want to<br />

communicate about?<br />

Student: The psychic I saw imagines this consciousness<br />

as separate from this consciousness, is separate<br />

from that consciousness; then the psychic had an<br />

elaborate world of ideas about this consciousness<br />

existing after death and communicating with this
