Wool knotted pile, khorjin face. Field of blue,
colorful palette. Handsome design with inner
border geometric pattern, closure slits.

These pile-woven bags must have been woven by
settled peoples, as they are too heavy to have been used
by nomads. When nomadic, these Kurds probably
would have summered in the Zagros in present day
Iraq and wintered in lowlands in present day Iran.
This bag face has an unusual design, perhaps derived
from a carpet pattern.
