A fine, lightweight textile woven with handspun
wefts and machine-spun warps, comprising eleven
strips 10.8 cm (4¼ in) wide. Unlike other such
weavings, where a premium is typically placed on
careful coordination of design elements across strips,
here the closely packed, alternating black and white
bands are neither rigorously woven nor regimented,
thus adding interest.
