The elements are simple: bars, bands, squares and
rectangles of color, but the results are remarkably
complex, with none of the successive registers having
the precise color combination and disposition as any
of the others. One long selvedge is complete, the other
cut and seamed, and folded under. In contrast to
the other Maghribi textiles here, this is clearly the
product of a very sophisticated urban weaving atelier.
