The design of these textiles was very much influenced by
the Indian patola. This can be seen in the organization
of the main field into framed rectangles, and by the
triangular patterns at both ends. The overall design is
a lattice of intertwined floral forms. Men wore these
pieces as wraps around their waist, or folded lengthwise
as shoulder cloths.
