Finely woven wool cut pile,
excellent color, and natural dyes.

Acquired in Bukhara in 2000. It is not unusual
to find fragments of old weavings such as this in rug
weaving areas, as woven objects were used intensively
and worn until they virtually disappeared. However,
it is unusual at this late date to find such a fine piece
in good condition in a city like Bukhara. Side borders
and part of field missing. Originally, this bag face
was about 45" wide.
