This ilgitsh achieves its effects through subtle means.
All nine stellate forms are composed of a circle
surrounded by serrations which enclose a four-lobed
cruciform. These features are nicely articulated by the
changing direction of the chain stitch. This textile may
be among the earliest ilgitsh or other Lakai extant.
It is possible that its subtlety of internal design,
achieved in a single color in each motif repeat, may be
a point of departure for more highly developed designs
in following decades.
