2. (U) Mission<br />

This paragraph should include the friendly situation, supported units,<br />

and other target acquisition assets in sector. Include specific threat and<br />

friendly assessments that form a basis for threat assessments required<br />

on the radar deployment order.<br />

This paragraph should be a clear, concise statement of the target<br />

acquisition mission.<br />

3. (U) Execution<br />

This paragraph contains the subparagraphs described below.<br />

a. (U) Concept of Operation. This subparagraph gives the commander’s<br />

concept for target acquisition. This should include identification of designated<br />

cueing agents and general cueing guidance. This guidance may include<br />

general instructions for offensive and defensive phases of the operation.<br />

Specific cueing guidance is listed in the coordination subparagraph.<br />

b. (U) Processing. This subparagraph is used to denote target processing<br />

flow. This targeting information flow describes the relationship between the<br />

unit that acquires the target and the headquarters controlling the radar. This<br />

subparagraph does not represent the actual communications nets used but<br />

shows the destination flow of targeting information. This subparagraph<br />

should list all field artillery target acquisition assets and headquarters<br />

controlling them. The following are examples of the types of information<br />

that may be included in the processing subparagraph—<br />

(1) (U) AN/TPQ-46A section reports targets to the supported artillery<br />

battalion COC.<br />

(2) (U) AN/TPQ-37 section reports targets to the division or MEF<br />

targeting cell.<br />
