Yellow-throated Marten, origin unknown, Ban Lak (20),<br />

Bolikhamxai Province, January 1997. The pelage <strong>of</strong> this individual<br />

is typical <strong>of</strong> the species in <strong>Lao</strong> <strong>PDR</strong>. In many other parts <strong>of</strong> Asia,<br />

Large-spotted Civet, Xe Pian NBCA, early 1997. Camera-trapped<br />

by night. Very little field information is available on this species<br />

from anywhere in its world range. WWF Thailand / FOMACOP.<br />

Large Indian Civet, Nakai Plateau, late 1998. This common species<br />

is distinct in field appearance from the rare Large-spotted Civet,<br />

but field-marks for distinguishing it from the recently discovered<br />

Taynguyen Civet remain unclear. Camera trapped by night; note<br />

1997. The tail is damaged but the distinctive body and tail pattern<br />
