Four-eyed Turtle Sacalia quadriocellata from a stream in evergreen<br />

forest in Nakai-Nam Theun NBCA, December 1998. This<br />

remarkably patterned species is restricted to <strong>Lao</strong> <strong>PDR</strong>, Vietnam<br />

and China. Its best chances for survival are probably in <strong>Lao</strong> <strong>PDR</strong>.<br />

Cyrtodactylus jarujini from boulder pile in Phou Khaokhouay<br />

NBCA 1998. This species was described to science in 1993 from<br />

the type locality in Nong Khai Province, Thailand.<br />

Malayan Box Turtle Cuora amboinensis held captive in a paddyfield<br />

house near Ban Khem village, Dong Khanthung PNBCA, July<br />

1998. The animal was destined to be eaten. This species is regularly<br />

harvested for food and sale to the consumption trade.<br />

Ptyctolaemus phuwuanensis from boulder pile in Phou Khaokhouay<br />

NBCA, June 1998. This poorly-known species had not been previously<br />

reported outside <strong>of</strong> the type locality in Nong Khai Province,<br />

Thailand, from which it was described in 1991.<br />
