About Custom CodeCover Key
In certain situations, you may be required to
protect applications at the customer’s location.
For instance, a customer customizes an
application for some specific requirements
and then wants you to apply the CodeCover
protection to the customized application.
The usual scenario is to carry the developer
key to customer’s place and then use the
Command-Line CodeCover Utility to protect
the files. However, it involves the risk of
developer key being misplaced and misused
for creating extra licenses/modifying existing
licenses. For such scenarios (involving application
protection at customer’s end), you are
advised to use the Custom CodeCover Key.

What is a Custom Code-
Cover Key?
A Custom CodeCover key is a
Sentinel Key that helps you
protect applications using
the Command-Line Code-
Cover Utility, without
requiring a developer key. It
is used to apply CodeCover
protection to applications at
the end user’s site.
A Custom CodeCover key cannot be used to design protection
strategies or to program Sentinel Keys. It can only be used for
protecting files using CodeCover.
It protects files using the options specified in a license template file;
with the help of Command-Line CodeCover Utility. The license
template file is created using the same developer key that is used to
create Custom CodeCover key.
