Secure Remote New License Addition Secure Remote New License Addition Contents Glossary Index Troubleshooting Remote license addition method allows you to add new license(s) in the end user token present in the field. Note: A license (template) is considered to be new if its License ID is distinct from the license IDs of licenses available in the end user token. A license (template) is considered to be existing if its license ID matches the license ID of any of the licenses available in the end user token. The following table explains the scenarios in which the remote license addition process is useful. Scenario Token State Description Fresh License Addition New License Addition New Feature Addition Empty You have sent an empty token in the field and now you wish to add license(s) in the end user token remotely. Token with existing license(s) Token with existing license(s) The end user token has license L1 bound to application A1, and now you want to send a new license L2 bound to application A2. The end user token has license L1 with features F1, and F2, and you want to add another feature say F3 in the same license L1, present in the token. This is achieved by first deleting all the existing licenses from the token and then adding the modified L1 as the new license. Note: Do make sure to delete all licenses if you are adding the same license with a new feature. Otherwise, license loading fails displaying the message, “License already exists”.
