The Sentinel Protection Installer does not install Java Run-time Environment because neither the Sentinel System Driver, nor Sentinel Keys Server require it. However, it is required for using the Sentinel Keys License Monitor. You can download a copy from http://www.java.sun.com. A copy of JRE version 1.6.0 is also included in the Sentinel Keys SDK CD you received. For Macintosh, J2RE version 1.6 is not included in the Sentinel Keys SDK CD, you can download a copy from http://www.apple.com/java. Question 4 - What are the options available for using the Sentinel Protection Installer in a Windows Installer based installation program? You can use the Sentinel Protection Installer in the following ways to install Sentinel System Driver and/or Sentinel Keys Server. Using merge modules - The SentinelKeysUSBDriver.msm and/or SentinelKeysServer.msm merge modules are packaged forms of redistributables and can be integrated seamlessly with your InstallShield for Windows Installer and WISE installation programs. The merge modules contain the necessary files and registry entries, hence free you from the burdensome task of creating entries manually. Also, using merge modules the above-mentioned Sentinel Key redistributables are installed and uninstalled with your application. Note: Supports standard and basic projects The merge modules support both the basic and standard project types. Using MSI - If your Windows Installer based program does not support merge modules, you can make use of Sentinel Protection Installer (English) package for installing the abovementioned Sentinel Key redistributables.
