Chapter 8 – License Grouping Contents Glossary Index Troubleshooting 1. In License Manager, click the Load license group icon ( ). The Group Management dialog box appears. 2. Select the group you want to send. 3. Click Create File. The Create File dialog box appears. 4. Specify a path to write the file. 5. Provide the same File Encryption Key (FEK) used earlier (when you programmed the distributor key, see page 204). 6. Click OK. Creating New Feature Instances Contents Glossary Index Troubleshooting Note: Only the license templates selected using check boxes will be programmed in the Sentinel Key/distributor key. By default, all the license templates are selected. If the memory size of the group has exceeded that of hardware key, an error will be shown at the time of programming. Modifying Default Feature Instances You can modify the licensing values of the default feature instance after adding it to a group. This feature is provided to take care of the situations when minor modifications in the licensing values are required after a protected application is complied/protected already. To modify default feature values: 1. Load a group from the Group Management dialog box. 2. In the group layout, select the default feature instance. In the rightside panel, the options are shown. Please note that for default instances only the Update button is enabled—all other options remain disabled. 3. Modify the values as desired. 4. When done, click Update. Creating New Feature Instances If desired, you can create new feature instances having different licensing values. This will save you from modifying the default instance every time you receive a different licensing requirement. The new instances become a part of the feature node in the group layout, so that you can select the appropriate instance and program the Sentinel Key. Sentinel Hardware Keys Developer’s Guide 193
