must make a Dodge, Persistence or Resilience test (as<br />

specified by the spell) in order to avoid the effect <strong>of</strong> the<br />

spell entirely. Note that Resist (Dodge) spells require the<br />

target to be able to use Reactions in order to dodge. In<br />

the case <strong>of</strong> Area spells, the Resist (Dodge) trait requires<br />

the target to dive (see page 52 <strong>of</strong> RuneQuest) in order to<br />

mitigate the spell’s effect.<br />

Touch: Touch spells require the character to actually<br />

touch his target for the spell to take effect. The spellcaster<br />

must remain in physical contact with the target for the<br />

entire casting.<br />

Trigger: The spell will lie dormant until an event stated<br />

in the description takes place. The spell then takes effect<br />

and is expended.<br />

Analyse Magic<br />

This spell gives a true statement about at least one function<br />

<strong>of</strong> a single magical item, entity or substance. For each<br />

point <strong>of</strong> Magnitude, an additional truth is discovered.<br />

Antirius Precepts<br />

Concentration, Magnitude 3, Progressive, Resist<br />

(Persistence)<br />

Cult: Yelm<br />

This spell only affects worshippers <strong>of</strong> Yelm and his<br />

subordinate deities. When cast, those within the area <strong>of</strong><br />

effect know the Correct Way <strong>of</strong> Yelmic precedence. This<br />

gives a +10% bonus to all Evaluate, Influence, Lore and<br />

Perception skills to those who are <strong>of</strong> higher social rank<br />

when used against those <strong>of</strong> lower social rank. Military<br />

rank does not affect this and a lower grade <strong>of</strong>ficer <strong>of</strong><br />

royal blood would benefit from this spell at the expense<br />

<strong>of</strong> a commander who is <strong>of</strong> lower birth. Non-Yelmic<br />

worshippers are automatically considered all <strong>of</strong> the same,<br />

lowest rank.<br />

For every three points <strong>of</strong> Magnitude in this spell, the<br />

bonus is increased by 10%.<br />

Awaken Lodril<br />

Duration Special, Magnitude 1, Progressive<br />

Cult: Caladra & Aurelion, Lodril<br />

This spell must be cast on the lip <strong>of</strong> an active or dormant<br />

volcano. Each point <strong>of</strong> Magnitude gives a cumulative<br />

Awaken Lodril<br />

+1% chance <strong>of</strong> starting an eruption and takes 1 hour<br />

to cast. Several priests can add all their spells together<br />

to increase the total chances for success. The actual<br />

explosion is usually delayed for several hours after the<br />

first rumblings begin, so most groups have time to escape<br />

the volcano’s fury.<br />

Axe Trance<br />

Duration 15, Magnitude 1, Touch<br />

Cult: Babeester Gor<br />

This spell can only be cast on Babeester Gor cultists and<br />

may be boosted with one or more Magic Points. Each<br />

Magic Point increases the target’s 1H/2H Axe skill by<br />

+5%. The spell may be combined with other weapon<br />

enhancing spells.<br />

Banish Ghost<br />

Duration 15, Magnitude 2, Progressive, Resist<br />

(Persistence), Touch<br />

Cult: Ty Kora Tek<br />

This spell allows the caster to force a ghost to leave the<br />

mortal plane. The ghost is then permanently forced into<br />

Ty Kora Tek’s Caverns <strong>of</strong> the Dead.<br />

Battle Song<br />

Concentration, Magnitude 1, Progressive, Ranged<br />

Cult: Donadar
