This spell creates an invisible protected covering up<br />
to 100 square metres defined by four warding staves.<br />
Each <strong>of</strong> these is 1 metre long and carved in the likeness<br />
<strong>of</strong> Issaries. It is very similar to a Magnitude 1 Warding<br />
enchantment (see RuneQuest Companion, page 41). It<br />
activates when someone enters the area with a hostile<br />
intent. It makes no distinction between ‘friendly’ fighters<br />
and ‘hostile’ fighters; anyone attempting to enter the zone<br />
with intentions <strong>of</strong> harm alerts it.<br />
The spell remains as long as the staves remain undisturbed.<br />
Anyone other than the caster attempting to move or<br />
destroy the staves activates it.<br />
Create Shadow<br />
Duration 15, Magnitude 1, Progressive, Ranged<br />
Cult: Argan Argar<br />
This spell creates a region <strong>of</strong> shadow that progressively<br />
blocks out light. Each round, its dimensions shift and<br />
range from 11 to 20 (2D6 + 8) metres in diameter with a<br />
height one quarter that. Once cast, it is immobile.<br />
Additional points <strong>of</strong> Magnitude do not increase the volume<br />
covered by the shadow but instead intensify the darkness<br />
created. At 1 point <strong>of</strong> Magnitude, the spell creates a visible<br />
haze and permits the use <strong>of</strong> the Dark Walk spell within<br />
its confines. 2 points neutralises the effects <strong>of</strong> sunlight<br />
on light-sensitive beings such as trollkin or vampires.<br />
3 points plunges the area into darkness equivalent to a<br />
moonlit night. 4 points creates a pitch-black area that is<br />
suitable for summoning or embodying shades.<br />
Fire or other illumination within such magic is visible,<br />
but it illuminates nothing.<br />
Create Skeleton<br />

This spell creates animated skeletons as described on<br />
page 117 <strong>of</strong> RuneQuest.<br />
Create Wildfire<br />
Instant, Magnitude 1, Progressive, Ranged<br />
Cult: Lodril<br />
This spell must be cast on a fire. For each point <strong>of</strong><br />
Magnitude, the fire’s diameter increases by 1 metre, but<br />
the fire’s intensity does not increase. If no substance is<br />
available for the increased fire to burn, it rapidly dwindles<br />
back to its original size.<br />
This spell has no effect on a Firearrow or similar spells.<br />
It increases a salamander’s size by 1 cubic metre per<br />
point <strong>of</strong> Magnitude but does not change its hit points or<br />
damage.<br />
Create Zombie<br />
Duration 10, Magnitude 3<br />
Cult: Underworld, Zorak Zoran<br />
This spell creates zombies as described in RuneQuest<br />
page 122. Zombies created by Zorak Zoran rituals do<br />
not have the spirit <strong>of</strong> the original owner bound into them,<br />
unlike those created by a shamanic ritual (see <strong>Cults</strong><br />
<strong>of</strong> Glorantha: Volume II). Instead, they are mindless<br />
automata, similar to animated skeletons.<br />
Cremate Dead<br />
Duration special, Magnitude 1, Touch<br />
Cult: Lodril, Shargash<br />
This hour long ritual allows an <strong>of</strong>ficial to fully destroy<br />
the bodily remains <strong>of</strong> any cultist after death. This spell<br />
guarantees that the ghost will not return to haunt the<br />
community. It also burns all the goods sent along with<br />
the corpse, allowing the deceased to carry some weapons<br />
and supplies in the Land <strong>of</strong> the Dead. It can be used on<br />
the still-animated skeleton, zombie or even vampire form<br />
<strong>of</strong> a Lodril cultist.<br />
Crush<br />
Duration 15, Magnitude 1, Progressive, Ranged<br />
Cult: Shargash, Zorak Zoran<br />
This spell can only be cast on a blunt weapon such as<br />
a mace or club. For each point <strong>of</strong> Magnitude, this spell<br />
adds +5% to the user’s chance to hit and adds 1 to the<br />
damage. Weapons under the effect <strong>of</strong> this spell take on a<br />
fiery red glow.<br />
Cure (Disease)<br />
Instant, Magnitude 1, Progressive, Touch<br />
Cult: Chalana Arroy, Erissa<br />
This spell combats a specified disease. When cast, the<br />
victim <strong>of</strong> the disease receives an immediate Resilience<br />
