scents. It effectively gives the caster +50% Tracking for<br />

the duration <strong>of</strong> the spell.<br />

Impede Chaos<br />

Cult: Urox<br />

The recipient <strong>of</strong> this spell becomes difficult for Chaotic<br />

opponents to hit. All Chaotic attackers have a –30%<br />

penalty to hit the target. Impede Chaos has no effect<br />

against non-Chaotic opponents.<br />

Increase/Decrease Wind<br />

Duration 15, Magnitude 1, Progressive, Ranged<br />

Cult: Orlanth<br />

For the duration <strong>of</strong> this spell, the average wind speed<br />

increases or decreases by one increment, i.e. from<br />

Moderate Wind to Stiff Wind (see pages 74-75 <strong>of</strong><br />

RuneQuest Companion). For each point <strong>of</strong> Magnitude<br />

in this spell, the caster can increase or decrease the<br />

wind by one increment. The spell has no effect on wind<br />

temperature or direction.<br />

Increase Winter Wind<br />

Duration 15, Magnitude 1, Progressive, Ranged<br />

Cult: Valind<br />

For the duration <strong>of</strong> this spell, the average wind speed is<br />

increased by up to two increments (i.e. from Moderate<br />

Wind to Stiff Wind) if the spell is cast in winter, per point<br />

<strong>of</strong> Magnitude in the spell. In all other seasons, the winds<br />

increase by only one increment per point <strong>of</strong> Magnitude<br />

in the spell. All winds within 100 metres <strong>of</strong> the caster<br />

are affected.<br />

Inspire Audience<br />

Duration 1 day, Magnitude 1, Progressive, Ranged<br />

Cult: Donadar<br />

This spell is used in conjunction with an ‘entertainment’<br />

skill such as Sing or Play Instrument. If the skill roll<br />

succeeds, all friendly listeners gain a +5% on all<br />

Persistence checks for the next 24 hours.<br />

For each point <strong>of</strong> Magnitude, the bonus is increased by<br />

+5%.<br />

Inspire Worshippers<br />

Duration 15, Magnitude 2, Progressive, Ranged<br />

Cult: Shargash<br />

Every 2 points <strong>of</strong> Magnitude in this spell provides a +5%<br />

bonus to a number <strong>of</strong> Shargashi worshippers equal to the<br />

caster’s POW. This bonus is applied to a single cult skill<br />

determined by the caster.<br />

Jagrekriand’s Bolt<br />

Instant, Magnitude 1, Progressive, Ranged<br />

Cult: Shargash<br />

This spell draws a bolt <strong>of</strong> energy from the War Planet<br />

and directs it at a single target, inflicting 3D6 points <strong>of</strong><br />

damage to a single hit location. Neither armour nor spells<br />

can protect against this damage. For each additional point<br />

<strong>of</strong> Magnitude, the caster may select another target.<br />

Obviously, this spell may only be used outside.<br />

Know (Dragon) Weakness<br />

Instant, Magnitude 1<br />

Cult: Orlanth Dragonslayer<br />

This spell may only be learned by a Dragonslayer. It may<br />

only be learned during the High Holy Day to Orlanth, and<br />

thus may be cast only once per year. The spell works only<br />

upon one particular dragon and those beings descended<br />

from it such as dream dragons or dragonewt nests formed<br />

from its eggs.<br />

When cast, this spell makes the next blow struck by the<br />

caster an automatic critical hit, provided that the target<br />

is the designated dragon, and the caster successfully hits<br />

with a melee or ranged weapon.<br />

Knowledge<br />

Duration 15, Magnitude 2, Touch<br />

Cult: Lankor Mhy<br />

This spell allows the caster to read the past history <strong>of</strong><br />

an item. If the information cannot be assimilated fully<br />

within the duration, parts may be lost. If the item has a<br />

long history, the item starts at the beginning unless the<br />

caster dictates a particular time at which to start.<br />
