School visits<br />

• Observe and video 3 <strong>to</strong> 4 different <strong>tvmbo</strong> lessons or activities<br />

• Interview group of 3 subject teachers teaching in <strong>tvmbo</strong><br />

• Interview the English teacher(s) teaching in <strong>tvmbo</strong><br />

• Interview the TTO coordina<strong>to</strong>r<br />

• Interview group of 5 <strong>tvmbo</strong> students (from different years if possible; the group<br />

should reflect the make up of the <strong>tvmbo</strong> population)<br />

I will interview in English and in Dutch, depending on who I am speaking <strong>to</strong> and everyone<br />

I interview will remain completely anonymous in the final publication.<br />

All of the interviews will <strong>be</strong> recorded on audio or video (for analysis). As a result of<br />

the interviews, I will create a questionnaire which I will send <strong>to</strong> your school and others<br />

who have started <strong>tvmbo</strong>.<br />

with teachers who are considered by the team <strong>to</strong> <strong>be</strong> “good” <strong>tvmbo</strong> teachers; in different<br />

subject areas, e.g. English, science, a hands-on subject such as art or PE, a his<strong>to</strong>ry/geography<br />

lesson, a maths lesson<br />
