146 Goalkeeping | 6. Theoretical preparation
1 If the ball is not kicked directly out of the penalty area
and the kicker touches the ball again, the kick must be
retaken.
2 If, after the ball is in play (outside the penalty area) the
kicker touches the ball again (except with his hands)
before it has touched another player, an indirect free kick
is awarded to the opposing team, to be taken from the
place where the infringement occurred. If, after the ball
is in play, the kicker deliberately handles the ball before it
has touched another player, a direct free kick is awarded
to the opposing team, to be taken from the place where
the infringement occurred.
1 Correct execution
3 If, from a goal kick, the ball leaves the penalty area but is
blown back into the area by a strong wind:
a) if the goalkeeper touches the ball again (with hands
or feet), then an indirect free kick is awarded to the
opposing team. This indirect free kick is taken from the
place where the infringement occurred.
b) if the kicker (outfi eld player) touches the ball again
(except with his hands), an indirect free kick is awarded to
the opposing team,
c) if the kicker (outfi eld player) deliberately handles the ball,
a penalty kick is awarded to the opposing team.
